GP Flooring Solutions Wins Best in Show at the Spark Awards
We are so proud to announce our winning the Fuse Alliance Spark Awards for 2017 for Best in Show for our project at del Lago Resort & Casino! We were presented with the award in New Orleans at their Annual Conference this last week.
About the Project:
The Del Lago Resort & Casino was a high-profile project in upstate New York. The job consisted of 17,000 square yards of both Ulster Mills Axminster carpet and Leggett and Platt pad; 40,000 square feet of Armstrong VCT; 30,000 linear feet of Johnsonite millwork base; 3,000 square yards of Durkan hospitality broadloom carpet; 11,000 square yards of carpet tile (Mohawk, Bentley, and Milliken); 2,000 square feet of Mannington LVT; and 1,250 square feet of sports flooring.
We were supposed to start in July 2016, but they weren’t ready for us to start until mid-October. The casino opened on time — on February 1st — which they have attributed in large part to the work of GP Flooring Solutions (see below testimonial). The hotel opened shortly thereafter, as planned. We accomplished this feat by having in-depth scheduled meetings twice a week using our detailed phasing plan, which allowed them to continue executing with other trades. We were nimble and collaborative — literally as soon as we had a roll of carpet installed, they were installing slot machine bases on top of it. Being squeezed in at the very end of the project, we had to allocate more resources and work weekends and overtime to meet their schedule. We also had to be really strategic in our approach.
