Monroe Community College Has a New Downtown Campus

It was an honor to be the flooring contractor selected for this landmark project for the Rochester community. Monroe Community College is a critical player in improving opportunities for students, and having a downtown campus of this caliber is a boon for this community.

“Our state-of-the-art MCC Downtown Campus represents a substantial investment in higher education, workforce development, and new jobs and opportunity right here in Monroe County,” said County Executive, Cheryl Dinolfo.

For their new downtown campus, Monroe Community College purchased the historic Kodak building on State Street, adding to a welcomed renewal of Rochester’s historic High Falls area. To transform this space for its new purpose, linoleum tile was installed in classrooms and carpet tile in offices. In the more public areas, a luxury vinyl tile was selected which has the appearance of wood. These materials were chosen to address a variety of surface requirements and worked together for a cohesive and finished appearance.

The community celebration marked the opening of the new downtown campus.

“GP Flooring provides the resources and expertise to overcome project hurdles and provide a quality product while meeting very challenging project schedules. We look forward to future opportunities.”
